A new video released by the Paradise Valley Police Department in Arizona shows why early morning drivers need to be particularly aware of other traffic. A traffic light camera captured a car’s high speed and collision that resulted in sparks. The footage is grainy but clearly shows the car running a red light at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Tatum Boulevard. The car’s bumper hits the ground hard, causing a shower of sparks, and the department estimates the vehicle was traveling at least 120mph.
The driver has been identified by the police, but the authorities have not yet revealed their identity. The department has pending charges against the driver. However, the officers did not specify the date and time of the incident.
The department tweeted “Caught RED handed,” warning drivers to remain alert when traveling through intersections, especially during light to no traffic hours.
Safe driving is always important, regardless of traffic conditions. However, during low traffic times, it can be tempting to let one’s guard down and become complacent behind the wheel. It’s important to remember that even during quiet periods, there may still be hazards on the road, such as pedestrians, cyclists, or animals. It’s crucial to remain alert and aware of your surroundings at all times, and to follow all traffic laws and signals. Additionally, it’s essential to maintain a safe speed, avoid distractions, and ensure that you are well-rested and alert before getting behind the wheel.
By practicing these safe driving habits, you can help reduce the risk of accidents and keep yourself and others on the road safe.
